Minimalism
It’s the least you can do.
It’s the least you can do.

Former Dook standout JJ Redick was arrested in Durham last night for a DUI. Police chased Redick down after he was seen acting suspicious on the road. And by “suspicious” I mean pulling up to a highway police DUI checkpoint and then making a U-turn to flee.
Much like the LSU defense, authorities were able to track down JJ pretty easily. He registered a blood-alchohol level of .11. Whoops.
Though JJ is in trouble with the police, he’s being celebrated by the folks from the Guiness Book of World Records. A .11 blood-alchohol level puts Redick well past yet another record-breaking milestone: Most Zima Ever Consumed in One Sitting. The record is currently held by Clemson freshman Betty Jean Stevenson, who drank 3 Zimas to register a BAC of .09 on her Chi Omega Big Sister Pledge Night in 1997 .
While Dook fans are certainly disappointed that JJ blew a .11, they are still more disappointed by the .18 field goal percentage he blew in every NCAA tournament game that ever mattered during his Blue Devil career.
The arrest comes at a time when Redick is preparing for the NBA Draft and trying to show GMs throughout the league that he is more than just a one-dimensional scorer.
Nothing to worry about, JJ. If anything, this incident proves that you have the tools to be the prototypical NBA triple-threat, someone who can: shoot the ball, pound alcohol, and run away from the cops.
In a related story, the Portland Trailblazers today offered to trade their entire roster to Toronto for the rights to draft Redick with the #1 pick.
Sorry for the long dry spell, but I’ve been banged up for the past couple months and it’s been difficult to post. I think I alluded to this earlier, but I injured my shoulder at the beginning of April. After countless doctor visits, x-rays, and an MRI, I’m still not sure what happened. What I do know is that I seem to have suffered multiple muscle injuries in my back and shoulders that are most likely the result of all the computer work I’ve been doing lately combined with the fact that I’m a gigantic gimp to start with.
The injuries have affected multiple areas of my life, most notably my computer time. Without some serious pain medicine it’s difficult for me to be at the keyboard for long stretches, so I’ve been using what time I can tolerate to do my job and make money instead of cranking out the high quality blizzog material you’re hankering for. Sorry, yo. It hasn’t been fun for me either.
The good news is that I think I’m on the mend, so I’m going to start ramping up the posts again. Stay tuned for some new blizzog-y goodness real soon.
