Bad Stretch
Not that this is jamiegainesproblems.com and I know that you don’t come here to read about my issues, but I thought I’d at least explain why I haven’t posted much this week or last. One, the pneumonia I got last week couldn’t have come at a worse time. I’m doing a lot of projects right now and my illness put me behind on work that I was already slightly behind on, so I’ve been playing a lot of catch-up.
The second, more serious, problem this week has been the illness of my homey Frosty the Guinea Pig. Those of you that read the old jg.com might remember pictures of him in his Ice Cube attire when we first found him outside back in 2000. He got very sick last Friday night into Saturday morning and we thought we were going to lose him. We took him to a vet here in Greensboro on Monday and then took him to some specialists in Raleigh where he stayed for most of this week.
He had lost a ton of weight in the last month and wasn’t eating as much. It turns out that his teeth were overgrown to the point that he was tearing up his tongue everytime he was trying to eat. So he had his teeth filed back and is now recovering from what I’m sure is a pretty painful ordeal. He’s very weak right now and not eating much on his own. I’m having to handfeed him 3 times a day which can take over a half hour at a time. I think he’s going to get better but it’s still very touch and go right now.
On the heels of losing our other guinea pig Squeak a few months ago I find it very unfair that we are being put through the ringer again, but I guess you have to deal with it. I’ve been back and forth to Raleigh three times this week all while trying to get caught up on all the work that I’ve missed being sick. It sucks.
So sorry for the boo-hoo fest and no new content recently, but it’s been a trying couple weeks. The good news is that the basketball season is starting up, I’m on the mend and I’m praying that Frosty has his rally cap on. I have a bunch of takes that I’ve been saving up, so hopefully we’ll get the good times rolling again here real soon.
Have a great Halloween and weekend!
Love,
The Crybaby

Hey, it’s not like I’m the most important thing. Take care of yourself and your squeaky homie, dude!
We’re pulling for the little guy. you know, when you look back on all this, I bet you’ll have a great movie script. I wonder who’d play Frosty?
TV’s John Stamos, of course.
My goals of self mutilation have gone up in smoke now that my owner has filed my teef back. Now I must keep living in this damn cage. Egad
