It's targeting their parents who do the back-to-school clothes shopping. The scary thing is the kids who grew up with the Breakfast Club are now old enough to have pre-teens. (They played this commercial in the movie theater before the latest Batman movie. Once the J.C. Penney logo hit the screen, the audience booed.) It’s not targeting the kids.
